High Unemployment-Big Need For Drivers

According to the statistics from the Georgia Labor Department of Labor’s website the unemployment rate in Georgia is at 8.2% which is above the national rate of 7.5%. According to an artical published Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine the trucking industry cut 700 jobs in May. That means that the industry only added 40,000 in the last 12 months. 152,000 from three years ago were added. Carriers are contacting us every day needing drivers. Our placement coordinator is on the phone with some carriers on a daily basis that need drivers to move freight. With so many job available with only three short weeks of training, Georgia or The United States should not have such high unemployment figures.
